The Rothschild prayer book or the Rothschild book of hours is an important Flemish manuscript, compiled c. 1500-20 by a number of artists, it has 254 folios, with a page size of 228x160 mm.

This manuscript was once in the Austrian National Library of Vienna as codex Vindobonensis SN 844.

Since it was sold, in July the 8th 1999 at Christie's Auction House in London, it has held the world record price at auction for an illuminated manuscript, The book was sold for £ 8.580.000, then $ 13.400.000.

This wonderful prayer book was offered for sale again at Christie's New York in 29th January 2014 when it fetched £8.195.783, the bidder remained anonymous until September 2014 when it was disclosed during an Australian TV program that Kerry Stokes a billionaire Australian business man purchased it.
